  • West Bay HOGG .

My Wife though I love her very much. Really doesn't know how to take a dad gumm picture. They never do our fish justice. But here she is guys. Went out mid afternoon on sunday from the casa and drifted one of my favorite spots on a slow outgoing. 3rd cast in I felt that wonderful THUMP and thought I had a bull red on. Turns out it was this lovely 33.5" speck. Unfortunately even though I immediately put her on O2 she bellied up on me. I didn't have any ice on board to cool the water she was in. so I ran her home to the cleaning table. YUM YUM...Got her on a chicken on a chain salt water assassin rigged weed less right at the drop off of a reef. I would tell you exactly where but I would have to kill you after. LOL.

I checked. Someone threw a 10# up and I was a few ounces shy and I didn't want to surrender my fish.

I really need to study up on the rules for the star. Im a lifetime member JT.so im automatically entered every year. Does it go by weight or length or both? And when I called them they said they keep the trout.

Woo hoo boogedy boogedy. Ive been in a little slump on trout lately. This was a good come back fish. Its ashamed we anglers cant bottle and sell that feeling when your line gets stretched by one of these.

I'll clarify. The marina is a official weigh station. They will keep the fish until cca verifies it or if there's an issue with it (been tampered with) and they can keep it until the end of the tournament if they feel a reason to, ESP the trout. But you will get the fish back so long as it checks out.

Roy said he believes the winning trout so far is 9.5 lbs. We had a guy catch a tagged redfish 2 weeks ago. I can see where it would be easy to overlook.

I think I may have screwed up here JT. Do you think they will take a pic and 2 fillets? Ha ha.
