  • LifeLong Dream , OutOfDallas

Wanted to share a bit of my dream.
1977 Left Corpus for the big city , school and career in Dallas.
Took several attempts and moving home or closer with no luck.
Finally almost 40 years later, I catch a great position here in Houston,
and with a bit of luck ill have home sold and have both feet nearly
at the coast again. For some this is not a big deal, but for me it is.
Its something that has been part of my plan since the day I left
    corpus so long ago.

Now the trick is to get past all of this living , realestate stuff and get my
    fishing poles out of storage

Should be ready by the fall, maybe i can find some flounder about then.

Felt the same when I left to go to school in San Marcos , it seemed like a world away.

I know the feeling I live near Nacogdoches and if it was any further away from the coast I'd be trying to move as well... Congrats on getting back to the salt

Cash in on a dream is always a big deal. I was born in Pasadena (you can still smell the refineries on me) and I've been trying to find my way back to the salt ever since. Congratulations.

Welcome back. I lived in Richardson then Plano (Park rd I think it was) for 5 years. I pulled some nice channel cats out of Lake Ray Hubbard but even those are nothing compared to the blue cats I get in the Brazos. Don't miss it one bit.

it gets better , we now have the house in dallas up for sale . We have a place lined up in seabrook ,its going to be a haul
to work but to me its my last stop , i hope to not have to move again, its dam hard work. I have been checking fishing around
clear lake and out in the bay around there, I figure if I can learn how to fish GISP ( took me three summers ) I can figure out
clearlake , seabrook areas. maybe this winter ill come across a nice bay boat . Stay tuned.
