Another person lost in the mosquito island area off the dike. That spot is almost as bad as SLP.

Yes sir. Prayers sent.Originally posted by Milkjug View PostThat sucks. Someone passed there just a few weeks ago.
Starting to get a little desensitized to this stuff. It is common knowledge that the spot is dangerous, yet people continue to wadefish there without a PFD. Prayers for his family.Mirrolure Pro Staff

That's a sad story. Prayers sent. Does that wade-aid belt actually float you? Just wondering if you've tried it out. I figured it floated but wasn't sure if it doubles as a life vest. Thanks.Originally posted by plugger View PostThat's why I have a WADE-AID wade belt . Those aren't made anymore but EZ WADE belt is the same thing .I set my hook like I am fishing for tuna even if I am fishing for trout. Call me tuna Joe!

Yea , WADEAIDE , EZWADE FLOATS ME . The deeper you wade it tends to ride up such that if you are not touching the bottom , it can end up under your armpits . If you don't have a gut like me you might get it tight enough to not ride up . Years ago when I was sculpted , I waded out chest deep and tucked up my legs and I floated . Before that I wore an inflatable PFD . The belt saved my butt a few times . You can drown even if you can swim . It's a good back support too . It's kinda like a water skiing belt .GEORGE A. I remember they put signs up in that area some time back after a Dad and his 2 boys were lost.
Just looked on Google street view (dated 2014) and NO Danger signs.
Doesn't make sense to me....They charge money now and can't pay to install a Danger sign
in the spot that has probably claimed the most lives.
