new boat vs. updating

Looks like upgrading my current boat is the best bet for us right now. The old Kenner needs the carpet pulled and refinished inside. Would like add a rear casting deck with storage. The hard part is deciding when I can do without her, to put her in the shop. Maybe January.

Also looking for a jack plate if anybody knows where I can get a good deal.

Would appreciate any and all recommendations on getting the interior done and where to get a good jack plate.
