Big 'O' on the fish
I guess a fishing report is irrelevant, right? Came for a weeks vacation in Jamaica Beach, fished the canals, the surf, Caranchua Bay, fished 8 mile road between deer island (I think) and the area around it. Pulled a big ZIP. Caught ladyfish like they were on sale in the surf Tuesday if I could keep the seaweed off my fly. Every cast was either a ladyfish or seaweed. It really is frustrating.
On a side note. When I went down to the end of 8 mile road I was dismayed at how people have trashed the area. One old salt mentioned that they'll shut the place down if they keep trashing it like this. So, since it's raining and I don't like standing in water with a 9' lighting rod in my hand, I'll take a couple of trash bags to the area and clean it up a bit. Don't want a few people spoiling the area for everyone. Hopefully it will still be open to public next time I come down to launch the Kayak.
I'm not going to complain about the rain, Texas needs it, but it really does mess up the fishing plans. I'll be in JB until Saturday it anyone needs a fishing partner or wants to Kayak or wade.
