  • First salt trip in months

Well I finally got back down to the island after spending all of my free time on the lakes around east Texas.

The fish are still right where I left them. 3.5 to 4 foot over mud and shell. I caught 3 specks to 22" all cpr'd and 8 flounder with three of them getting gill hooked so they came home with me. The other 5 were cpr'd.

The boss over heard me talking about my fish tacos, so that's what the flounder are going to be turned into tomorrow at work.

All the fish were caught on Egret Baits Bayou Chub on a 1/8 oz jig head in plum/chart. and glow/chart. I caught both species on both colors. I was fishing a strong incoming tide.

Great report and pic. WTG. I'll have to try those lures. Thanks for the advice. Welcome back. I used to fish bass and catfish back in Amistad lake. I love fishing saltwater. Especially eating flounder, trout, and reds. Lord Bless.
