  • Best route to jones bay

Newbie and would like to know if anyone has a suggested route to get to jones bay from the boat ramp by fatboys? I've been once and the second time we tried to cross over to it but was too shallow. And we would be using a 24' bay boat.

    There is two ways.

One is for Shoalwaters and one I can run in my 22ft Panga, but even that route is probable a little less that a foot in spots.

But basically I run south out of fatboys until I can turn back northwest around those islands. Then run down the channel that has white pvc pipes. Once you clear the last PVC pipe I cut out into Jones from there.

I have no idea how to explain how to go any farther out in there though without a gps. Theres long stretch though that you have to stay on plane though so its kind of hard to take it slow and find a good route first without just crossing your fingers and going. (not advised though, I just followed a buddy the first time I went through)

It's navionics on iphone. I think they have it on other OS too. I like it better than the Lawrence we have on the boat so far. I think if I got an iPad it would be even Better with the bigger screen.
