6/7-8 Report

Me and two buddies fished Saturday 4p - 8p and Sunday 6:30a - noon. Ran out of Jamaica Beach.

Saturday - started at Snake Island cove...bait everywhere. Fished plum and chartreuse, gold spoons and then switched to shrimp under a popping cork. Not a single look. Went to Carancahua and drifted popping corks. Notta. Finished behind the state park throwing tops. Again...nothing.


Sunday - started behind the park with tops. Nothing. Ran for fuel at Waterman then across to Greens Cut. Threw popping corks while drifting and picked up 2 reds right at 19" each. 5 small trout with 2 going 14 and a keeper black drum.


Grinded...but learning. Great to be on the water.

Thanks for the report. At least you got your line stretched a bit. Seems like it was a tough weekend of fishing out there.

Thanks for the report ! Dang , the more reports I read the better I feel about my 3 trout . That's the way it is sometimes . You don't know until you go . But , it's great to be out and fishing !

Fished two days and two keepers here. Only found a few fish on the north shoreline from Choco to snake island

A slow day of fishing is still better than a day at work.

Great report. I also fished the park on saturday. Caught me a nice 26" red and lost a trout while jumping out of the water. Caught the red on live mullet, but they were not biting at anything else I threw at them. While paddling back to shore the grass flats at the park was full of red fish.This was around 4pm.
Threw some plastics at'em but nothing.
Fun day over all

Me and Kenny left my house in BV and ran right to snake island as well, not a strike on tops or anything else... Went into carrancua as well nothing,....Ran all the way back too south side of north deer and waded there as well.... NOTHING! I got pissed and told Kenny to load up and we shagged butt all the way to the channel in Galveston and worked around and under the docks.... ZIPPO! Went ALL the way back too BV and did a drift at a couple of my GO TOO spots for REDS... And guess what happened.... Don't guess to hard because NOTHING happened. NADA NADA NADA.... Plugger its been really weird out there lately... I haven't boated a decent fish since I fished the red tourney 3 weeks ago... Who did we all piss off?

It was tough for sure buddy. Maybe they sitting back and fattening for the tourney. Cant believe we didn't even get a bump from the slicks that popped up right behind us.

Lol! Been a lot of grinding and not much catching! Hopefully next weekend will be better.
