    That's Robalo....you cant walk in like "Ned and the First Reader" to get a title...you gotta be creative on the title curative side of things but then again, we are landmen.

      If he is the original owner, he needs to file for a title. Then he can transfer it to you like a regular sale. I had a 1964 Monark I brought from Louisiana. Well, we don't title boats there, or didn't back then. It was still a hassle with TPWD, but they allowed it because I was from out of state. Still had to pay for the inspection and shlep the boat over to their office. If this guy is for sure the original owner, and it's never been titled, it can be done. If it's ever been titled by anyone before, it's a headache you don't need. I suppose you could say you are the original owner, but you have to sign an affidavit of fact.
