  • VJER Fest: Blockade Runners, May 24, 2014

    This year's VJER Fest will be May 24th at Blockade Runners. All who knew VJER Vic are invited to attend. Bring your boat or ask for a ferry ride from the CS Navy. Bring your own beverages and anything for a pot luck nosh. If you knew Vic, he'd want you there. So don't be shy.
    From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."

      I'm not familiar with the man or event but it sounds awesome . Good for you honoring your friends memory .

          Vic was my best friend and a beloved member here and on 2cool. He did much of the work rebuilding the camp. We lost him during your long hiatus Henry, March 25th 2 years ago.

          I don't have any good pics of him on this new computer, but I got a nice one here of him throwing a cast net from the old BR's community board.

          I tried to post the excellent youtube video 2112 did for his funeral, but the videos don't exist anymore and Bert has been MIA for a while.

              Sandy you should post up some of the stuff he wrote on 2 cool. He had a way with words for sure. Super sweet guy. My wife and I loved him from the minute we met him.

                  Lara and I got a chance to get to know him...wound up having him build some outdoor furniture for us...very easy going guy...easy to talk to

                        Vic designed and built the wooden boxes that house the outdoor tv's at the Sand Bar for damm near the cost of the material. Super talented craftsman. I liked him because he did what he said he would do.
