Pig show Galena Park I.S.D.

Well my son placed fourth in his class last night in Galena park.Looks as if we have a good pig for the Houston livestock show this year His pig wieghed in at 72 pounds,and will wieght 270 something when we go to Houston in March.

Looks like Mr. Callis(sp) is giving your son some advice right there and if anyone can he can see good animals. He is the Ft. Bend Ag. Extemsion Director, I believe, and works tirelessly with our youngsters out here. Good job by your son.

Thanks SRed,Yeh mr.Callis is very good with the kids i watched him talk to every kid in the ring last night you can tell he wants everyone of them to get attn.Well here are couple more pics from last night ,my friend Marcus Wilson's two kids and mine took 2nd,3rd,and 4th in one class.They really have one good setup there in Galena park.

I start out with linder scudmissle i think it is 21 percent protien ,then i switch to moormens.

I don't know anything about pigs but eating them. Congrats to the boy though! Hopefully he'll bring home a blue ribbon come March.

I start out with linder scudmissle i think it is 21 percent protien ,then i switch to moormens.

Ya man Moormens is good stuff, i found that they make more pig feed than what is sold at feed stores, i contacted a sales rep for them and got a bunch of different supplements to put in the feed for different pig body types, they have some stuff called moorfat and some stuff called moorbody to add volume if pig is skinny, some stuff called navigator and lean maximizer with paylean for muscle. just gotta watch out with that paylean, it will stiffen them up and sometimes cause them to limp if your not carefull. Yeh i no all about ther products thanks i will keep ya posted on what happens ,we got another liitle show in dec.my son is starting to understand the importance of taking the animals to shows when ther young so they get youst to it early .last year when we interd houston we wieged 267 But the pig lost over ten pounds in the three days we were ther due to stress ,so im hitting every show i can so this guy does not stress and will be youst to the people and nooies and not stress .
