We tried..
Shutout & I have been talking about meeting up since I posted about Christmas last weekend. We decided to forget about this weekend since the winds were forecast to blow pretty heavy. This morning while I was sitting at my computer, I got a text from Pat saying we should give it a try anyway. I loaded up my gear and we met up at the Freeport side of San Luis. Got out there a little after 11 and things didn't look too promising, so we decided to scout out a few other spots. He took me around and showed me a couple good looking spots to wade and met a guy kite fishing quite successfully. Finally made it back to the pass and the wind was howling pretty good at our backs. Pat was throwing a spoon and I started with a corky. We launched a few out there but no bites. We fished for about 2 hours and decided to call it quits. Nice day and always good making new friends.

That's a pretty good run from my house. I've gone that way when I get squirrely and the weather cooperates. I usually pick up the icw and just hammer down. Curmudgeon, did you get my message about our broke back order?

We tried west yesterday afternoon and today... I lost about an 18" flounder that flopped off the deck. Caught a croaker and a 19" redfish. Wind was relentless and light fishing wasn't great. Just an off weekend I guess good to know I'm not the only one!Tight Lines
