  • Early April

I'm gonna be down the first week of April and have a couple questions. I'm usually not at the coast this early in the year and have even less of a clue than during the summer. I'm debating on investing in some waders, but I've never waded before and probably won't be down this early again. What are some options other than wading? I've mostly fished the surf on light tackle. I hear people talk about Seawolf Park and Texas City Dike- anything else??

South or north jetty, but jetty rock hopping can be work. Much more enjoyable to wade.

Check out the TroutSupport.com DVD's lots of guys have them on here, don't take my word for them, there are plenty of testimonials on the internet.

It's gonna be to chilly to wet wade, but if you're not fishing early sprung or late fall investing in waders is pretty silly. You can always fish one of the piers or walk out on the rock groins. I've never fished Seawolf or the TCD so I can't give you any input there.

On average it starts getting warm around the 15th of April till May. After that you can wet wade. Either that or get some inexpensive breathable with long johns. It'll be bare able. Hope this helps. Lord Bless.
