I wanted to pick up a few tidal surge baits and save a few cents but could never find their booth. Guess I'll hit marburger's this week and pick them up. Talked to the mirrolure rep about a couple older color patterns he had displayed only to find out they were discontinued. I pressed him on why he had them displayed if not available and his reply was to visit marburgers to order them. Maybe kill two birds with one rock.

I saw those discontinued Mirrolure colors . They have some good ones . I asked why don't they make them and he said people want something new . I told him they are so old that they are new to the young bucks . Wish I had taken a picture . You could sand off and repaint some of them to get what you want . He said you would have to place a special order of a minimum of about 120 to get a discontinued color .

Plugger, you got an extra white/chartreuse/white you would part with? Another month and we can hit the surf if winter will ever end.

Went first thing this morning with ibtsoom and his family in tow and immediately ran into Jerkyourcroaker which I took to be a good sign. He'd gone the day before and was returning to find a bag of lures his son left behind which he successfully retrieved.
The show was a little smaller than I thought it would be, but there was plenty to do and see.
I was mainly looking for waders and anything else that caught my eye. There were several rodmakers I'd never heard of and tons I had. I finally got to check out an H&H Back country which I see as a rod in my future. The Laguna Solo and Latis also were awesome, but I hadn't planned on buying a rod or spending $300 in one spot today. I sure would love to pick up one someday. American Rodsmiths had some great little 6' medium rods at $30 each or 2 for $50, so Mike and I each picked one up on the way out. FTU had the Simms waders I'd like to get but I just couldn't pry open my wallet for $799, so I just picked up a couple SS jrs from them. I also picked up a handful of Strike Pro Hunchbacks and made sure to snag a couple bags of Knotty hookers. The only other waders I saw were the Gulf Coast waders so I picked up a pair for $74 which is hard to beat. We ran into baby tran cat and Thomas Barlow and saw JYC a few more times as we made our way through the show.
I was pretty impressed with the whole thing. With good planning you could pick up some incredible gear at great discounts. There were even a couple of boats that could be in my price range in the foreseeable future. I'll definitely be back for the next one!
