Whew! finally getting some time off from my miserable senior semester! And what better way to spend it than with your family down in Port A! My dad, uncle, and I are looking to go find some fish while we're down there, if any of yall fish Port A I'm in need of a little advice. e.g. safest boat launch, general fishing/wading areas

    Thanks yall, Pete

Sounds like a much needed break from school . In a way I'm glad I wasn't fishing when I was in school . Probably would have flunked out . I'm no help with Port Aransas . Have fun .

For reds, try Estes Flats. The Fina Docks should be full of sheepshead and reds. Quarantine might be holding specs. Drum should be across from the old naval base at Ingleside. For wading, you might try the mud island area or shamrock. One of my favorite spots is the drain next to the light house on a falling tide. Caught a little of everything there.
NWS says water temps are lower than normal there, too. So the flats may be off unless you get a warming trend. As far as launching goes, all the ramps are ok. It just depends on where you plan to fish and how long you want to run. Port A marina and Conn Brown will both have the most to choose from....bait, snacks, etc.
Hope this helps. Tried to give a few options not knowing exactly what you're looking for.

As long as the tide is up, there will be a couple reds up on those flats. South Shoreline of St Joe grass and mud or the grass edge drop off should be some trout if you look for pods of bait.

Congrats on making it this far this semester... Grad School or interviewing?

Thanks yall for the help. We could'nt go the first day because of 40 mph winds, so we hit dagger island the next day with not a fish in sight. For the last two days we went to upper laguna and fished the guts between the islands and drifted the king ranch shoreline. Within thoes two days we caught acouple bait fish and undersized trout. We ended the trip with one keeper trout...
Even though the fishing wasn't good im bleeded to spend time with my family in a beautiful area!
