Pig is now a resident of the Wildlife Rescue Relocation Center in Houston. I actually put her on a dog collar and took her for a walk before taking her there. Anyway...now that phase of my life is over...it's back to killin and grillin!

Great report, but I think I would have dropped the pig on the nearest land and let him find a herd to run with. Where there is one, there are hundreds.

Yes, the marsh is full of hogs and if it'd been a little older I would have...but given the fact it was so small, had just about drowned and was weak, plus the next front was supposed to be a doozy, and the lab pup had scattered the pigs to high heaven...I said screw it...I'll take her. Was it right?....who knows...Was it wrong? Maybe, but it's alive. Not that a wild pig life really matters. I've killed my share, and will probably kill more. If I'd of had some land to let it get bigger...it damn well could've been dinner at some point, but for now, it was cool to watch for the few days I had it.

You did well , it would have been dastardly to let a baby animal die that way .

It was Monte's "pet", no way he'd let us enjoy the fruits of his labor and the way he held that lil' tender "dinner", ya knew he was true to his word and gave it to a rescue place. I did call the Rescue place-they said they're serving Cochon de Lait and Cabrito tonite for $5/plate-I guess someone turned in a baby goat also!!
