Unlike WEA tourney water temps finally rose to our magic number of 48 and gave us a chance to get away from deep water and back to wading. After the first hour we were questioning ourselves that the fish were still gun shy to feed shallow but the outgoing started and so did the bite. Fishing a drop in mud and shell with corkys and plastics we picked up plenty of good fish to good really cause we had to release several fish that were a hair over 25 and couldnt find those just unders we needed.Lots of good sacks at weigh in as we finished 10th overall, congrats to winners.

Nice job...what was yall's weight? We got our #$$ handed to us in this one. Couldn't bust 7lbs and only caught about 6 trout all day. I didn't go to weigh in and haven't seen any results posted yet.

Ended up with 15lbs and some change. Top stringer was 17lbs and everything else was 16 on down lots of close weights. We figured it would be like that just couldn't get that big girl we had the week before.

That was last Saturday , right ? I am trying to figure out the weather conditions . Partly cloudy , south to 15 mph , outgong ... Something like that . Thanks for the input and sharing . I think a lot of good fishermen were in that tournament ... Tough field . Like you said , 2nd on down was 16 and then onces to separate the field . Thanks for the report . I fished that day but didn't do well . You'll get them next time . I would have been pleased with your results . I have to work on where to fish under given conditions . You fish a lee or windward shoreline ?

We fished a windward side. With the water so clear you need something to help off color the water just a bit, i feel as long as you cant see your feet that can be all the difference. We didnt see one bait all day but did have water turkeys (thats what i call them lol) in the area.

Yeah , a windward shore would be best to push bait and turbid the water to cover fish . That's what I fished when not in Halls Bayou or drifting /wading Chocolate Bày . I should have stayed with wading a windward shoreline mainly . Right before dark on a windward shore line I lost a decent fish. .

Yeah , bait is usually down when it's cold which makes it hard to locate trout . Seeing pelicans , gulls , and cormorants can be your sign to stop and fish , mud streaks .

That's tuff when 15lbs doesn't get a check....our fish just weren't there, and we new it but we couldn't find a better option on Thursday or Friday...probably hit 10 spots looking...in between sales calls...damn job screws up my pre fishing...I'm not fishing the next one unless we're on fish.
