AR-10 =.308 , AR-15 = 5.56. Rock River Arms makes a nice reasonably priced AR Platform, Armalite, Patriot, Rocky Mountain Machine Works etc. Id def steer clear of Academy Bushmasters, and similar high production, low quality Rifles. There is a guy in Alvin that makes a fine, entry level AR in the $1200 price range, Ill try and find out name. His come cerakoted and w/ quad rails for accessories. What makes a good quality rifle is tight tolerances, and attention to detail......

I've heard of a place that manufactures AR lowers at 80%, which means you have no serial numbers (yes it's legal) you'll have to drill a few holes, buy a barrell and fit everything up and violà, you have an AR 15. That is the cheaper route. you can find all the parts online, like dressing up your barbie doll, you can accessorize all you want...or are willing to spend. Check them out... you'll have to google that.Comment
