We fished Cold Pass/ Churchill Bayou/Bastrop Bayou with out much success as far as take home fish. In Cold Pass we probably caught a dozen rat reds and twice as many sheepies. Churchill coughed up a couple more rat reds and Bastrop Bayou was a complete dud.

The wind really started howling about noon so we gave up and headed in. Fish were active and biting, just all the wrong size or something we didn't want to clean. Some of the sheepies were huge and I would have needed a sawsall to clean them.

I haven't cleaned a sheepie in years, but you can see a YouTube vid of an easy way to fillet them.

Yup. when they turn sideways on you, you think you've hooked a whale.

All of the reds were carbon copies of each other; all 15-16". What do you guys do to find larger fish when you know they are biting but just cant get any size on them? We probably caught at least a dozen this size all up and down cold pass and churchill. Click image for larger version

might have just been a school of small ones, happens all the time.

Usually reds and trout of same size will school together . If catching dinks , move . Not to say that the smaller fish will move on and a school of larger fish come in .
