I went to Chocolate Friday around 11:00am and found the bayou muddy & salinity zero, some friends were coming in as I was going to launch and after talking with them, I didnt even go. Today I launched in the late morning to catch the afternoon incoming tide. I didn't see any bait or birds. Didn't see anyone close to me catching any fish except for a boat using live shrimp under corks and they caught a couple of dozen 10"-12" black drum while I was within watching distance. I need to go down to my place and mow in the morning so I think I will go fish the MOB in the afternoon. Maybe it will be better than WGB/Chocolate. Not much of a report, I know, but it's all I got.

Thanks guys , a not catching report with information is still a good report ! It helps build a working background of what areas were productive or not given a days condition .GEORGE A. BRANARD, COLOR SERGEANT, CO. L, 1 ST TEXAS INFANTRY, HOOD'S TEXAS BRIGADE, C.S.A. : S.C.V.

all the rain runoff may keep chocolate fresh for a while .Originally posted by KennyWayne View PostI went to Chocolate Friday around 11:00am and found the bayou muddy & salinity zero, some friends were coming in as I was going to launch and after talking with them, I didnt even go. I hit the Galveston ship channel for a brief period last Wednesday afternoon in the cold wind and failed miserably. Not even a bite. Going to try it again this week at some point if I can figure out a good time with an incoming tide.Shut up and FISH!!

I went out Friday and picked up one barely legal flounder our of Churchill Bayou and a half dozen or so 12" puppy drum and 3 or 4 rat reds. I kept the flounder.
Saturday was a repeat except replace the barely keeper sized flounder with a barely keeper sized red, a half dozen black drum around 10-12" and a handful of rat reds . All from Cold Pass that day.
Nothing anywhere else I tried; bird island, mud cut, beach side of SLP, grass flats on the southern shore behind the water tower on the far west end.
I was fishing live shrimp on a fish finder rig/carolina rig hoping to get some more flounder.

Myself, Hogie and Flapper went on a wade-fishing trip on Friday. Water was a bit cooler than I thought it would be, 48 degrees. Drove around a bit looking for bait, pelicans, or something, but never saw any signs. Decided to wade a mud flat with scattered shell that had the warmest temperature, 50 degrees. Ended up with 8 fat trout to 4.5 lbs. and a few reds on corky fatboys and devils. The bite was very light and we had a few fish pull off.
