The weekend before last I went out to Seawolf to wade for my two flounder and 30 minutes into the wade I realized my waders had a leak as my left foot was getting a bit soggy. By the end of my trip I was wet up to my waist - mid chest area. No big deal since it wasn't too cold yet.
The cold front this weekend made me remember that I better buy new waders or find the leak before heading out after T-day lunch so I pulled out the water hose and filled them up to look for leaks. I couldn't find any holes per say but noticed different spots around the seams where it looked like I had some leakage. After seeing all of the different spots around the seams with issues I decided I was going to buy a new pair of put them to the side and went about digging out all of my other fishing gear to clean up. During this clean up I found a tube of unopened Shoe Goo. That sparked an idea. So I grabbed my waders and turned them back inside out to expose the seams and grabbed some latex gloves and started applying the Shoe Goo on all of the seams from top to bottom. It took me three different times to apply the Shoe Goo so it could dry on one side so I could flip to the other side. After both sides were done I did the most import area of the waders (crotch area) and let that dry.
Fast Forward from Friday until today. I turned the waders back to the right side out and filled with water. To my amazement NO LEAKS!!!
Just to be safe I am going to turn the waders back inside out and apply one more coat to the seams and let that dry. I'll update this thread after T-day to let you guys know how the patching experiment turns out.
