Well I won a little H&R handi rifle .223 on a youth hunt two weekends ago. I am kind of wanting something a little bigger and there is a guy on 2cool who has a Rossi .243 that's been shot 4 times and he's looking for a smaller gun because it's too much for his daughter. His has a scope as well. Should I offer to trade? Is Rossi a good brand? Or should I just keep the H&R? Thanks!

My son bought my grandson that Rossi 243 and its groups are terrible. Its all over a paper plate at 50 yards and 12" out at 100.
I've tightened every screw on the rifle and the scope that came with it with still no results on accuracy. Then removed the scope and shot the iron sights with about the same grouping. Also tried 3-5 brands of factory ammo and they all did the same.
We also added an adjustable stock for my grandsons arms are short and his eye alignment with the scope was more acceptable.
The weapon kicks worse than my 308 Remington bolt as its extremely short and light.
My suggestion is to keep the HR and look for a good hunting round for the 223. You have the better weapon for whitetail."Nobody's so poor that somebody can't get rich screwing 'em." -
Okay! Sounds like a plan and I can use this as a varmint gun. I'm not in need of a deer rifle as my grandpa gave me a 6.8 semi and a .243 bolt to use.Tight LinesComment

rossi's are made in south America, I havent heard any good things about them.the fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad.
