  • Sarge Upchurch, Sarge Customs

Had a partial day off yesterday and decided to drive ALL the way around to The Anahuac Refuge Shoreline. On my way into the park, I had been behind a truck with a big Sarge sticker. We both get out to sign in the book and low and behold, it was Sarge Upchurch. After some chit chat he invited me to make a wade at his spot, and I followed him on down. As we got out of the trucks I realized I had gone on and on about how much I love my Freebird, only to pull a Green Rod out of my truck. Anyway I've only been throwing Plastic exclusively for about 2 years, so I took this opportunity to watch his technique and learn something, and man he put on a clinic! We didn't catch squat, but I was able to adjust a few things I could've done better by watching him, so it was a great day. Real cool guy, exchanged info and prolly gonna hit another wade soon....I have a "Freebird" , to me the best rod I own and I've got a few nice ones. Check him out: www.sargecustoms.com
