  • Dang it, Dang it, Dang it!!!!

I knew I should have entered the Redfish Showdown along with the Hall's Bayou Bass Tournament. Didn't place in the bass tournament, but I did win the side pot for biggest slot red. He was 27 7/8 inches and 9 pounds 11 ounces. Could have caught more about the same size as we found a school of them, but all I needed was one for the side pot so we went back to bass fishing. Caught a bunch of bass, but not enough keepers.

...tell the truth! There isn't any decent fishing down in Hall's Bayou. We had two houseboats down there when I was growing up and up until Alicia in '83.
Nothing but dinks down there. Lotsa Gators and snakes that will try and get into your boat. Potlickers?, you haven't seen any until you try and fish there. Skeeters are so big and mean that they will eat you up as you are trying to eat your lunch at high noon. Oyster reefs and sunken debris? You might as well carry a spare lower unit on your boat as you are going to need it if you run South past the third Cedars!

I'm telling Ya'll, Hall's Bayou has no Fish...
I'm telling Ya'll, Hall's Bayou is a Skeeter test area where they learn how to eat Humans...
I'm telling Ya'll, Hall's Bayou will have you calling your insurance company after you are towed in...

If you want the good fish that bite on every cast head a little farther South and fish Chocolate Bayou/Bay.

      I'm telling Ya'll.
      Nice Red there Brother!
Will be down there Sunday way past the Cedars and will be sitting/bombing/trolling the Flounder hole!

The skeeters had been bad, but they didn't show on Saturday........thankfully.

I've got to switch gears to Dickinson Bayou as the next bass tournament is there. Haven't fished for bass there in many years so if anyone here has any secrets that could help please send me a PM, your secret will be safe with me. Thanks
