  • West bay coves water clarity

I'm going to take my kayak Sunday to fish. I would like to go to Pirate's area. Some of you guys live on the bay front. Can you tell me if the water is too messed up to go there ? If so , I'll consider the Diversionary Canal area. Thanks for any input.

Talking to Mike yesterday on the phone he said everything is choc milk. He is heading out fishing a little this morning so he will know. I am going to call him this afternoon with the same questions. If he does not post it up I will.

He said some of the coves are fishable, so you should be fine in the morning. The wind is calming and the water is settling.

Good luck, lately those reds have been partial to plum bass assassins and mardi grass bull minnows

Gotcha. I'll post a report for better or worse.

Honkin' winds this morning. I fished a cove a while early and caught a few keeper trout on a jig.
The wind's still NE, ENE 15 and gusty. This afternoon it will be probably E and drop off after 5:00 or so, and it may be more fishable. I'll let you know.
