Tides/Weather question??

I was wondering how to figure out the best time to catch fish. I'm use to big fast tides unlike here. When do you like like to fish best? Is it early morning/later afternoon or mainly when the tides are running exc. I have had good results at times fishing on pelican island in between classes and on the weekends ( I just transferred to A&M Galveston from Savannah,GA ) with a few good reds/specs and a nice amount of flounder but I am mainly going when I have a break. That being said many trips are spent without a singe bite I would like to be able to some what predict the feeding/active times of these fish!

The best time is when you can go. Keep track of different tide wind and all the factors.
