What has the fishing been like near Chocolate Bayou and the 2004 bridge? I plan on fishing there this weekend

Went yesterday AM. Lots of boats and fishermen. Drifted upper bay with no success so moved above 2004 bridge into bayou and caught trout and drum and flatties. One spec was worth keeping and I return the drum or any redfish. Any large croaker remain in my box also and of course my favorite which is a flattie. Caught 2 flatties but were too small to fit a 16"skillet so they went back too. and of course an occasional Ladyfish. I hardly ever cast plastic and my bait of choice is live shrimp from Lutes Marina. I did keep 1/2 doz smaller croaker for the surf which I would imagine is getting better everyday for bulls. Good luck to you!

It's been hot by kayak. Black rattletrap ripped hard in front of the grass. Quick limits on reds. Then its gulp ghost shrimp on jig heads bounced on the bottom off into the flats like areas off the bayou. Don't bother going into the bay. It's not necessary.
