  • East matagorda bay

I'm leaving tomorrow with the boat to stay in sargent for our annual group of about 20 friends fishing tournament . 4 of us will pre - fish friday for the tournament day , saturday . Big fajita cookout and weigh in saturday night . Cash prize for first and second trout and red . Side bet on flounder . Last year one of my buddies in our boat caught a 3 pound trout and me a 2.5 pound trout . He's a part time guide . One guy had a decent flounder and he was already spending the prize money mentally . Me and my bud said we suck . Lo , at the weigh in , he got first place and i got second place ! We sucked , but , everyone else sucked more . Lol ! The flounder guy didn't place . So , the moral children , is to keep plugging away . You might suck less than someone else .

Looks like it'll be se 5-15 mph . I figure hit all the usual south shore spots . Anyone who fishes matagorda with any tip they would offer , pm me .

    good luck Plugger!

    My tip:

Keep the beer cold and the women hot.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

I remember one spot we went called 3 beacons reef...deeper water shell reef. Dont remember where exactly but we did catch some nice trout on corkies. Another was back in chinqapin bayou for reds and flounder. Good luck and be safe. Oh and most of all enjoy!

At my age , now you tell me . And , no , we're not doing that kind of fishing .

But , i have to tell this story . Sargent is a sleepy , backwater , canal home place . If you"re not there to fish , you're lost , right ? Four of us fished one day there , and went straight from mike's launch / bait camp to the place down the street to eat ; food downstairs , beer and karaoke upstairs . We ate and as going up the outside stairs , a guy coming down said " don't go up there ! " well , of course we went upstairs and found the place packed and rollicking with karaoke . In a big cornor table sat several good looking women taking orders from the locals for sex toys , lotions , weekend travel kits , you name it . One low cut blouse salesgirl came to our table with the extensive catalog to place our orders . She did her pitch , but we mumbled an excuse as we averted our eyes and picked our ears with fish slim fingers . For a deal changer , she whipped out her ace in the hole ( insert joke ) and produced a fat , 9 inch , anatomically correct , purple , ... Er , you know ..., and slammed its convenient suction base onto the middle of the table . As the monument still swayed from it's deployment , and like a good magician using the misdirection technique while our eyes were transfixed on the purple beast , she dispensed her top selling , aromatic , lubricant on her hand and started expertly to " manipulate " said impressive object . While bending over the table with her ever lowering low cut blouse with the rhythmic motions , she once again started her spiel . I could see her lips moving with my peripheral vision , but , the last thing i remember hearing was the loud thud of 4 jaws collectively hitting the table . An eerie silence engulfed me . I got tunnel vision , and nothing existed but her magical moving hand . The slack jaw , bulging eyes , beady sweat , and trembling body ceased only after the demonstration was over . I mutely took the offered catalog and she went on to the next table . I kept the catalog as a souvenir . Who had thunk it about sargent .

True story ,Tim . I couldn't make up stuff like that .

I think the moderators are discussing whether or not to delete the story . Coe may insist I wash my hands with soap and not type anything like that again .
