  • API sues EPA over Ethanol

As most of you know, the EPA has mandated Ethanol be in gasoline. The US gives corn subsidies to farmers to grow corn and we've seen how the price of deer corn doubled a year ago -all thanks to the corn lobbyists and the EPA mandate. Corn is an inefficient source of ethanol when compared to other sources-plus corn is food and most other sources are not (sawgrass).

Ethanol causes damage to combustion engines, especially older engines and 2 stroke motors, but the EPA/Government THINKS it knows what is best for us (while taking money from corn lobbyists and unduly influencing laws) and passed the stupid law and is ruining our boat motors as well as lawnmowers and other engines.

Thank goodness for the Oil Industry which formed the API. The API filed a lawsuit with the D.C. Circuit Court challenging EPA’s Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) volume requirements for 2013.

“EPA’s unrealistic ethanol mandates for 2013 are simply bad public policy,” said Harry Ng, API vice president and general counsel. “EPA issued this year’s requirements nine months late and has once again mandated significantly more cellulosic ethanol than is available in the marketplace.”

The 2013 RFS volume requirements were not issued until August 2013, despite a statutory deadline of November 2012. EPA also mandated that refiners use four million gallons of cellulosic ethanol in 2013, but only 142,000 gallons have been available for refiners to blend so far, according to EPA. The court has already had to rein in EPA’s excessive cellulosic ethanol mandates, according to Ng, but the agency continues to ignore reality.

“The 2013 mandates are an example of why EPA can’t be relied upon to implement the RFS effectively and in the interest of consumers,” Ng said. “Ultimately, Congress must fully repeal this unworkable and costly mandate.”

API is a national trade association that represents all segments of America’s technology-driven oil and natural gas industry. Its more than 550 members – including large integrated companies, exploration and production, refining, marketing, pipeline, and marine businesses, and service and supply firms – provide most of the nation’s energy. The industry also supports 9.8 million U.S. jobs and 8 percent of the U.S. economy, delivers $85 million a day in revenue to our government, and, since 2000, has invested over $2 trillion in U.S. capital projects to advance all forms of energy, including alternatives.

HOPEFULLY, THE COURTS WILL SIDE WITH API AND STOP THIS STUPID, UNFAIR, LOBBIED LAW.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

What ?! Ruination and disaster for such attitudes . Think of the environment and drowning polar bears because of the evils of fossil fuels . Thank goodness barack and al gore are making great strides to combat this evil co2 naturally occuring gas and pollutants by shutting down oil rigs , refineries , pipelines and enacting resrictive laws that cause job lose and engine failure . You know india , pakistan , russia , china , etc. Won't selflessly enact such a nationally economic disaster upon themselves . We must bear that burden . When we're a banana republic , we can at least lift our heads high and say we did our part to save al gore's fortune and barack's socialist agenda ...er , i mean save the bears .
