Oh, when surf fishing at dawn the beach faces due eat and the sun rises due east and even with some pretty good Costa sunglasses you're kind of blinded. The wind is usually Southeast as well, making it hard to control long casts of spoons, poppers, and jigs, like sight casting. I've thrown casts out there and had no idea where the booger went!

I learned a trick for that situation - walk out on the second bar as far as possible and cast back in towards shore. Not optimal, but it catches a few of the small 'uns.

I cast so far sometimes it burns off my lure!!

spool it on as tight as humanly possible i run the line through a book and put my small toolbox on top of it.After a long day of fishing the line piles up on there real loose I simply hook my lure to a tree or my truck here at home and walk off all the line and re reel it back onto the spool with the drag tight and put the line back on real tight.. no troubles that way i love braid you can pull up the oyster reef or whatever snags you or straighten the hook.

I have mostly PowerPro but slowly moving over to Ohero as it starts off way smoother and less memory which causes your knots etc...15-25lb depending on rodn reel setup. PowerPro gets better the more use it.

I like the sensitivity and it just last longer as it doesn't fray as easy

I had a love-hate relationship with braid for the first year that I used it. I still have mono spooled on one reel. I started with 30# and eventually went to 20#. The one thing about braid, is it's fairly easy to get backlashes out once you understand it. If it freespools then like mono, it's going to probably be a "cutter".
