WTG GC13 fro trying to help. I know that area well, you can have the bow of your boat in 1ft of water and the back may be in 10Ft.

I believe there was 6. It was hard to tell with all of the chaos going on. We arrived back at the dock from an evening of fishing and that is when it all started. We saw a man crying and hodling a child in a life jacket while the sheriffs were trying to get information from them. We went ahead and loaded the boat and that is when we were told someone had drown. About that time a severe storm pushed over the top of us. One of the fire fighters asked if we would go back out in it to look for survivors and or the possibility of a body. We backed the boat back in and took off and were able to locate two individuals and the boat. They were yelling at us to find their brother but we could not see him and we were instructed to bring them back. We got the two young men and the boat back to the dock about the time the coast guard showed up. We were about to head back out but the CG said no, let them handle it. Rather than get in their way we put the boat on the trailer, said some prayers, filled out a police repoar, and then headed hm.

My brother rode in their boat on the way in and they told him what had happened. So whatever stories are popping up you can believe what you want. The sad fact is that someone lost their life. The only reason I posted this was so that people would keep an eye out today for the victim. Looks like they found him last night.

They ran out of gas after leaving 2004 and heading to seawolf park to get some more people and refueled before heading back. Apparently they had made this trip before. The boat ran out of gas and they tried paddling and were not getting anywhere when one of the brothers jumped into the water and pushed the boat off of whatever they were stuck on. They again got stuck and he tried the same and he lost his footing and the tide took him one way and the wind took the boat another. He fought for his life and his brother jumped in to save him and almost lost his. Another boat came by and saved him and brought a few others in, but they were unable to rescue the drowning victim. We retrieved the others.

        Sad, sad, day...RIP.

Believe what you wish. I really don't care about the media. I posted this for people to keep a look out for this guy if they were out today and for no other reason. This is such a sad event.

I didn't ever get the whole story because they were all in shock and frantic but I actually got there first in my kayak. I was fishing nearby and started paddling toward them by coincidence to set up for a drift. As I got closer I could see them waving a paddle at a boat in the opposite direction and could hear them yelling. As I got closer I could see two men in the water and realized something was wrong. As the people in the boat saw me they started trying to call me in. When I finally got close enough they told me their brother or uncle was in the water somewhere and had gone under. The two men climbed back in their boat and I paddled around the general area looking for anything but never saw any signs. They told me it had been between 5 and 10 minutes since he went under so I didn't have a good feeling. The original boat they were waving at arrived a few minutes after me along with a 3rd shortly after that. There were 3 men and a girl around 5 and boy around 9. One of the men took the young girl and boy back on one of the boats while the 2 other men stayed. They didn't want to leave. The other boat and I kept moving around the area but never found anything. The storm was coming our way so I had to get out of there. The wind and tide were going my direction or I would have had chance of making it in and would have had to ride the storm out before head going back. I was about a hundred yards from the bridge when it finally hit. It was a very sad and unfortunate situation. My prayers go out to their family.

"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

At about 11.25 am We were fishing just south of the 2004 bridge by the Gio tube and saw a coast guard helicopter going around, then to game warden boat were moving rapidly under where the heli has hovering. We slowly drifted close whe one of the game warden had something in the water.when the other game warden boat with lights on told us to move away from the area.

Prayers to the family and their loss, and good on yall helping out...sounds as if it could've been much worse had yall not shown up. I've never experianced any bad current there either, and not saying it doesn't occur, but please people...if you aren't a good swimmer, don't get out of the boat. If you do, wear a pfd! My guess is, panic and lack of swimming ability got him. Even if you can't swim...learn how to float and just roll with the current till it stops then dog paddle to shore. Again, not saying that's the case here, but in my mind I could see it unfold that way. What a shame!
