And I was referring to the Permethrin you buy in concentrate that you have to measure out and mix that is available at all feed stores for like $10 and makes gallons. I make a reduced version that I spray on my dogs and works great. It will take a little to get used to by your dog but its safe for them.

I would not put permethrin on a dog. I wouldn't apply deet directly to my skin either.

DEET for skeeters and permethrin for ticks. You can buy permethrin labelled as Duranon, Permanone, and Congo Creek Tick Spray. The spray is used on your clothes - not on your skin! It's OK for dogs but only their fur from the neck on back.

So if you're workin' outside, hunting, or just gomming around, spray DEET (35%) on any exposed skin and the permethin (0.5%) on your clothes, especially down by your socks and shoes (or Crocs!) because ticks like to crawl up your legs. The ticks are having a very good year for some reason. The permethrin lasts about a week and can stand up to a few washings.

If you do get a tick, try to bottle the dude because if you get bit, they can tell a lot from the tick species if you get Lyme disease, babesiosis (I cain't pronounce it either), or some other bad tick disease. Sometimes they just don't know unless they got the tick.

And remember, there is no such thing as a good snake.
