The summer is over on South Padre Island, and thousands of tourists have left. We'll be having a Labor Day party to celebrate! Finally got our beaches and the bay back, right in time for the beginning of the fall fish run when things cool off a notch as the days get shorter. It gets right quiet down here compared to the summer, like a spooky ghost town. I like it. Is the island area down by Surfside and Galveston the same way?Comment

Yep, we used to have a reclamation party on the beach every year to celebrate the end of tourist season. It always included a huge bonfire. hotdogs, hamburgers, and a LOT of beer.
