8/16: Took a Trip to Big Lake

I went to Big Lake Thursday evening and stayed through mid day today. I went on a corporate trip with guys from our shop and some customers. We stayed and fished with Big Lake Guide Service. We had a fine time. We smoked the fish in the lights Thursday night. I fished with Jeff Poe on Friday. We picked up a mess of jug trout plunking around the mid bay reefs. We went out the jetties and caught some more in the surf including this red:




We went back out this morning. The wind blew pretty good out of the north and had the water screwed up. We fished with a different guide today and scratched out a mixed bag of trout, reds and one flounder.

I can't say enough about the quality of the lodge, boats and guides at Big Lake. I would definitely recommend them to anyone. Everybody left with full coolers. I came home with a restocked freezer of feetches.

Sweet. Great place to fish. I've been twice on the same sort of company paid thing. We used the same Guide Service.
I was lucky and got to fish with Mary both times.
