Need Resources for Handout on Dangers of Pass

As a current Sea Aggie and avid shark fisherman, I spend a lot of time on the beach, especially SLP. My best advice is don't get in the water unless you're down by the Point West condos. Current's strong and unpredictable. Plus the beach patrol doesn't allow swimming in the pass, especially after this summer's drownings. No offroading on the dunes and most of those trails are closed now. Big fine if you get caught on the dunes. If you're gonna drink on the beach. Buy it in a can and use a coozie and don't drive like a dumb@$$. The cops usually leave you alone if you're not causing a raucous. Please pick up your trash. They can have a good time pretty much anywhere on the beach. As far as emergency services go, call the cops if its a worthy emergency. If they're stuck there's usually people around to pull you out. You can PM me to get you out if theres no one around. I live 5 mins from the pass. For fishing, if the surf's flat just fish there. It's been good recently. That's pretty much it i guess. Hey, my Son's in the Ocean Engineering curriculum at A&M main campus. At one time we were considering Galveston but the studies at the main campus seemed more tuned to what he wanted to do, civil engineering in the marine environment. So, he went there.
