      Sigh...
Pico de gallo has raw chopped onions which is ok. But I refer to onions that have been cooked (caramelized, if you will).

I don't think there is a bad way to fix fish tacos....they all sound good .

ROLLO - you must tell me about how you know about larrapin . I thought I was the only one who said that . My father who was born in 1917 would say that when something was really good to eat . Never heard anyone else use it .

I like a vinegar slaw and not a creamy slaw for fish tacos.

I usually just shred some cabbage, pour in 1/4-1/2 cup of dill pickle juice, add some red pepper flakes and garlic salt and pepper to taste.

Let that sit for about an hour while you are fixing the rest of the stuff and it'll be right by then.

My grandparents used larrapin all the time. Things were putrid if they weren't larrapin.

THANK YOU , BRUCE . I DIDN'T SEE IT IN MY DICTIONARY . I SHOULD TRY A UNABRIDGED DICTIONARY FOR LARRAPIN . WELL , WELL BOYS AND GIRLS , OUR NEW WORD FOR THE DAY IS " LARRAPIN " . I WANT EVERYONE TO USE IT IN A SENTENCE AT LEAST ONCE TODAY . WE WILL ALL FISH SOON IN HOPES OF CATCHING SPECKLED TROUT SO THAT WE MAY PREPARE SOME LARRAPIN GOOD FISH TACOS .

When my Mom was describing anything edible that was really, really good, she described it as "larrapin' good". Seemed to apply, though, only to food.

I still occasionally use the expression - and only for food.
