Well....I've tried all the so-called reefs in West Bay, with very limited success......high tide, low tide, windy, no breeze, live shrimp, dead shrimp, fake shrimp, plastics of all sorts.....whatever.... Is the secret all about getting in the skinny water or wade fishing....? What's the best options for those of us with v-hull boats requiring at least 2ft of water....? Fishing ain't supposed to be this hard!!

I feel your pain. In the past I used to fish more offshore and had a big ole deep v Hydra Sports. To be truly effective in the bays I found I had to learn how to get to spots where I could get out of the boat. At certain times, drift fishing with a drift anchor(s) or anchoring up to target moving fish in choke points and passes worked well. That said, even with a shallow boat, jack plate, remote trolling motor and power pole, I get stir crazy and have to get the hell out of the boat!"You've got to think lucky. If you fall into a mudhole, check your back pocket, you might have caught a fish" - Darrell Royal

It's been especially tough lately as mentioned . Try drifting deeper water reefs , maybe east bay , trinity , ship channel . You are not alone in your fishless state . But , you can't catch fish sitting at home .GEORGE A. BRANARD, COLOR SERGEANT, CO. L, 1 ST TEXAS INFANTRY, HOOD'S TEXAS BRIGADE, C.S.A. : S.C.V.

Fishing has been bad for several weeks. Fish have all been small to none. I swear I'm gonna eat the next stingray I catch...but I'd rather have redfish or trout.
Just keep at it, it'll turn around soon."I love this country, it's the government I'm afraid of!"
