Got a text yesterday morning: "You wanna hear the sound of Specks slammin' top waters?" My answer. "Where and what time?"
Started fishing just as the sun began to rise. Light south west wind and trout green water with a slow incoming tide. She was throwing a pink skitterwalk and bone spook jr for me. Did not matter much, the fish were not being picky.Caught six trout on the first few drifts. Several boats came buzzing through the area and we had to let things settle. Tide stopped moving and we boxed one more. Had to get back, my friend had to get to work. Started getting too hot anyway. It amazes me how guys cut your drift off or crank up their big motor and run right through the area you're fishing. It was a good morning and thankful for the opportunity. Boxed 7 total from 16"-19". We could have caught more fish on plastics, but we were having too much fun watching trout blast the tops! Be safe out there and God Bless!
