  • Speckled Redfish

I was wondering if this is as uncommon as it seemed to me today. I must have caught 30 redfish this morning (most around 16"-19", but when reeling in this one, I thought I had finally caught a trout. I wanted to make sure it survived so I snapped a pic of it so I could count the spots later. There are 89 spots on this side alone (the other side looked the same, but I didn't count them). That's around 178 spots on this fish, so is it a speckled redfish? Click image for larger version

That's a cool looking fish. The most spots on a red I have caught was 9.

Result of an inter-species relationship. Scandalous!
