Yeah you know it. Deano supplied more than enough. There was quite a miscalculation on the number of plywood sheets needed though. I had to make a run to Lowe's in Lake Jackson for 8 more pieces, and we still had to cannibalize one more piece out of what used to be the floor of the generator shed. We almost went and pulled the one off the scaffold in the Ghost Camp. Tell y'all what, that ride to Lowe's hurt me bad in the wallet. After getting all those pieces of marine plywood for $7 each, paying $39 a pop for regular treated was pretty rough. We darn near ran out of 2X4s too. I wanted to tell the whole story tonight, but it's going to have to wait for tomorrow. I won't feel right about hitting the sack without mentioning everyone who came out and contributed this weekend.

And last, but not a member here, is my poor neighbor down the bayou, Eddie Stitt. He lost everything in Ike, and is only now starting on his place. He stopped by this afternoon at just the right time. I was wishing and hoping someone would stop by, but as the day got longer, it looked like nobody would come. Then, there he was, and he saved my butt. You see, there was an ice chest and 2 cans of OFF on the roof. I tried 4 times to go up the ladder, even giving myself a pep talk, only to look down and freak out. At one point I was frozen with my arms on the roof and my feet unable to move. I think I need to see a shrink about this. Eddie said, "No problem!" and sent his son up top to retrieve everything.
The bad thing is I was expecting more people to eat food, so I brought a bunch. Well so did everyone else. Now I've got all this food that's going to go to waste. I could have worse problems though. Things are really going to move now. New outer walls are next, and of course there's the Ghost Camp to continue chewing on.
The future's so bright, I gotta wear shades. From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."

Kewl!!!! Way to go guys, before long you will be ready to hang up the "Holiday Inn" sign....
Now that the tournment is over, we have hunting season coming up so it might be spring before I can get out there. Though I might have to skip a weekend of bow hunting to come out and help a little.Pro Staff - Bounty Hunter Turbo Buzz, Creme Lures, New Pro Products, & K9 Fishing Fluorocarbon

I should be able to get pics and tell the whole story tonight. You know what's funny? As I was packing up to leave, I carefully placed all the drip pans and water buckets where they needed to be. Only after I locked the door did I realize how foolish that was. DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I just about slapped myself, but it was worth a good laugh.
Looks like this coming weekend will probably be an off weekend. I think I'll take a break for once. But I have to think about it. My dad is being honored at the Tulane football game in the Superdome on Saturday and I have a field pass waiting for me if I can make it there. It's going to be a tough decision to make. I can't believe he's been on the faculty there for 50 years, with no signs of retirement in the future. From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. Dude your camp can wait be there with your dad that is an awesome achievement for any human being let alone your dad. hats off to him. My grandfather did 46 yrs at his job and i was always amazed at his dedication. i think that put should put him in the LA sports hall of fame on tenure alone. hope you get to go.Originally posted by coachlaw View PostI should be able to get pics and tell the whole story tonight. It's a done deal. My boss gave me the go ahead to take Friday off and head to N.O. Looks like the weather Saturday is going to be bad anyway. Sorry I still don't have the pics up. I spent last night watching the Cards rip the 'Stros and grading papers. From 1970-1997, true heaven on Earth existed on the banks of Bayou Cook. "Hey Dad, Thanks for buying the Camp."
