Very nice...and CHEAP if you have any military in the family...largest AF base in the country I believe is there...loads of fun, great beaches but can get real crowded

nice white sand,almost blue water and lots wild life roaming the beaches at times.not a bad drive over there either

Cool place.... There is a badarse go kart track there for the kids and adults... It's all wood like two or three stories...

Take the wifey to Cut N Shoot-they have a Dollar Store and you can get multi-flavored Moonpies at the Stop N Rob. There's a Motel 6 nearby also for that romantic get-a-way!!!

Great place, crystal clear water, white sand.... Ive been on a deep sea fishn trip leaving from there... it was great.... Good catching, but i would have like to fish from the beach but i did not have my gear ......

Destin is cool in my book ... kinda high class .... ???

We are going to St. George Island, it is East of Destin. Next year that is for a week. Look at VRBO dot com. Cheaper than a hotel, and more bang for your buck. Lots of vacation rentals! You can search by any location. I think anywhere from Pensacola or Perdido area East is beautiful

The wife and I went and if these pictures don't get you pumped up, you are not going to like it! Seriously, great place, but don't go during summer break. Traffic is really bad getting on the island and all over the place. You have to try McGuires Irish Pub!(http://www.mcguiresirishpub.com/)

IF you go for a week, check out VBRO and rent a condo on the water. Much cheaper and if you research, you can get one on the water for a nice price.
Expect traffic to be bad at nights. Other than that it is a great place. If you want less crowds, go to Gulf Shores.

great place. i've been twice. i took the kayaks and fished the surf but all we caught was a remora. i think the water is too clear. go to the main port. there is a kiosk that books trips for the day. if you want a four hour trip for two, they will group you with some other folks to make a full trip. we got lucky and the party we were grouped with didn't want their fish. we had several grouper and amberjack. i drove back with an ice chest full of fish which i had frozen at the condo. it was still frozen solid when i got back. we fished on a boat called stress relief, but that was years ago. i think you could possibly do some jetty fishing there. there's also a great oyster bar across from the kiosk. aj's. grouper sandwiches are really good and easy to come by. it's fun hanging out there watching the boats and catches come in. rent a condo with a kitchen for 500 a week. we stayed at the sandestin, it was ok. had parking included.
