  • Anegada report (more fly fishing)

The seas are back down, so I was out on the reef for a couple of hours this morning.

    Anchored up in nipple-deep water.

It just don't get much prettier than this.

A coney (small grouper), caught on olive over white clouser. About 3/4 pound.

    Coney under water after release.

Nice Walker. Great pics and you're right-looks like it can't get much nicer.
"Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.

Not that much different than a Karankawa indian hunting the shallows at night with a torch and a spear.

That's too cool. I'd love to go down there sometime for some spearfishing, freediving, yak fishing and beer drinking.

I'll bet those coneys and hinds are good to eat. Do they have regulations on them or is it just not worth the trouble?

Yes - the coneys and hinds are #1 table fare. The coneys are also locally called "butterfish" because they are so good.

No regulations at all on almost any fish. All of the fishing regulations here relate to sportfishing (the big boats out for marlin, wahoo, etc.)

There are no regulations at all pertaining to reef species. The only thing that is regulated is lobster, conch, and whelk. The season for those is closed until November.

Here are a couple of small hind that I caught on the reef.

Yep - it is over. Wednesday is pack-up day, catch the 5:00 ferry to Tortola, then fly out Thursday morning for 7 weeks in Houston before returning here.

I know you enjoyed it bro. Hopefully you'll have a chance to make it down to Blockade Runners sometime.
