  • Fish Farms or Stocked Ponds

So the squaw is out of town and I want to take my little girl fishing this weekend. I would prefer a place where the odds are as good as possible. She’s only 2 ½ and her Dora fishing pole fell in the water last time we went so it’s imperative that we catch something (anything really).

I cant find any catfish farms, what happened to them, I used to go all the time as a kid? Anyone tried any of these spots?

    Silverspur,
Guaranteed bend in the pole. Go to the Surfside Marina with her dora pole, and some dead shrimp. Throw behind Moon Dog's fish cleaning table, and tell her to hold on! I was there last week, and I watched a young boy hammer the hard heads, not gafftop. She will also be able to see the offshore fish being brought in and cleaned. I plan on taking my little ones as soon as Swim Team is over for the season. Have some fun!

Get some stink bait and take her to the challenger pond. I have taken my little one there and caught some decent catfish with her.

Silverspur - if you want to take a drive (Fayette Co./LaGrange), come on out to my place with some worms and shiners and have a ball catching big bream, crappie and bass, maybe even a catfish or two. Keep what you catch if you wish or just throw them in an ice chest for me. Pond is evaporating and don't need to throw any back in.

Let me know before 5pm today.

caught some non-keeper sized catfish at Resoft Park in Alvin. It's a pretty good little set up there and would be even better if it hadn't have been so dadgum hot.
