  • Replacing Treble Hooks with Single Hooks Recommendations

I am in the process of replacing treble hooks with single hooks on mirrolures. I have read McBrides article in the July 2008 issue "Going Single", and have replaced my trebles according to the article for most
    of my mirrolures.

Does anyone have recommendations for hook size for the Top Dog Jr and Top Pup? I was thinking 2/0 on the front and 1/0 on the back for both of these lures.

Also single hook recommendation for Mirrodine XL?
I am using the Gamakatsu Live Bait with Ring Hooks to replace my trebles.

    Any recommendations would be appreciated.

We practice catch and release the majority on our trips, so I did the same thing a couple of years ago. I am sorry that I can not remember the exaction number. 2/0 comes to mind. You want to make sure the hooks aren't long enough to hook eachother.

On a side note, we started using circle hooks under corks when we use them. We haven't gut hooked a fish in years.

Probably the 1's or 2's for the Mirrodine. Same for Top pup, 2's for Topdog,
