    Hmmmm....where to go & when

    Hi y'all.
    Just came across this group tonight! Looks great & cant wait to see how everyone is doing!
    We have a place on Anderson's Way, but it just hasn't been happening down there lately. My son wants to go fishing, but wants to catch something, lol don't we all! We don't have a boat, so I'm looking for some new places to try that we can get to by truck or foot.
    After looking at google earth, it looked like there may be some roads off of 2004, that could lead us to some new areas, plus not have to mess with the tourists on the island. Are my eyes deceiving me?
    Not looking to steal anyones honey holes, just looking to take my son out for some fun, away from the tv and game systems.

    go to the surf, the trout are biting and no telling what else you might catch.
    the fishing was good,it was the catching that was bad.

        Surf for sure right now. Get him a pound of dead shrimp. Catch sum finger mullet and bait him up from shore. After the bite dies throw them shrimp on a #8 treble hook and he will catch whiting and god knows what every cast til the bait is gone. Good luck!

            Welcome to the forum Jen. If these guy's say to fish the surf now, I would listen to them as they know their stuff. Have fun and kudos to you for wanting your boy to enjoy this great sport.

              We love it! Sadly, for one reason or another (Ike taking away our camp, economy having us make sacrifices we never thought we'd have to) it's been about 4 yrs since we were at it hard and serious. We're finally back to a 2 vehicle family and it's time to start enjoying getting out and tossing some bait, even if it's only to catch some hard heads, lol. It's the fun with my son and the peace of nature that really counts, right? Bragging rights are pretty great too, though. ;-)
