Fishing was fantastic last night. I caught my limit by 11 PM but I tossed back the fish under 16 looking for better ones. So I only ended up with 8.
The shad were so thick I was forced to use live shad to get the specks to bite. I free lined them with a bb split shot and hooked them just behind their gill plate in order to keep them low in the water column.
Around 2 AM I still hadn't got any fish better than 16 and the fish stopped biting, so I started to pack up my gear and didn't see a tanker come by, it brought some massive waves that hit the rocks and sent a wall of water over the jetty. It blew one of my 1000 watt bulbs and busted open the other. The crazy thing is the bulb still works. I also lost a small wading box with a couple mirrodines, trokar trebles, and jig heads.
