TLD15 is plenty for anything you'll likely hook up. What line is on it?

Tld has 30lb mono on it, im taking over a reservation to I'm not on the very back. Not very many openings available for a while.. I'm seeing a lot about using snapper slappers and other live baits but not sure which shops in galveston have best offshore bait. Anyone ever bring a trout rod on one of these boats? I've see. A few reccomendations due to schooling dolphin.

Don't bring a trout rod-it'll be fairly useless unless some dolphin get near-use gulps for them. Get some snapper slappers and also get some sardines (spanish sardines) and hook onto slapper or get some 6" gulp minnows and add to the slapper-I'd get glow colored gulp for the snaps. You may wanna tie on a 50# mono leader?? If that 30# mono is real old, ya may wanna replace it.

They have snapper slappers at FTU. Get a deep drop jig or two. You can get to the bottom quickly and get the big ones.

Sometimes the larger snapper will be suspended and using a Snapper Slapper with an icefish/Sardine attached will get a good hook-up if they're around.

Live piggies or pinfish the size of your hand are great also!
