Hey All...haven't been on the island in over a month...kind of surprised not to have any surf reports. What's it looking like on the west side????? Gotta think it's time.

Right now the predictions are calling for possible fishable waters in the surf for Saturday thru Monday. Two spots that I will be trying beginning Thursday evening will be San Luis Pass about 30 yards bridgeside of the deceased pier (in the afternoons on an outgoing current) and the surf at the mouth of the Brazos (at first light on a high or incoming tide). Both of those places are protected in their own unique ways even when the surf itself is too rough. And please, if anyone tries either of these spots based on anything I have said, wear your PFD's. In my opinion SLP is not very scary on an outgoing current, but the MOB is the most dangerous place I know of on the upper coast as the sand can washout beneath your feet and you be swept out in a second. Also at the MOB, the Bull Sharks are thick all the way into the first gut, so always be sure that your stringer of fish is far away from you and your legs. The last shark death recorded in Texas occurred in the Corpus Area Surf in 1961 and was a fisherman with his stringer of specs wrapped around his leg(s).

I almost got washed out with sand in the pass, so be cvareful where ya wade."Hey Hillary, regarding the Benghazi Attack on 9/11-we'll just blame it on that movie, not my total lack of security. By the way, what's so significant about 9/11 anyway-was that a date my buddy Bill Ayers of the Weather Underground blew up a government building?" asked Obama to Hillary. BEAUTIFY AMERICA, RUN OVER A LIBERAL, THEN BACK UP AND SEE IF HE'S DEAD.
