Barometric pressure, how important is it?

Barometric and temp have everything to do with fishing. What makes a good angler is being able to adapt to most any temp/pressure/tide/water color condition and catch fish regardless.

Granted, sometimes they just don't want to eat, even though you know they're there.

All that being said, personally I don't care much for high pressure blue sky days. At times it's as if someone hit a light switch and shut off the bite. For me, temperature is not near as much of an issue to overcome --it just dictates where I fish.

I've also been sold on the solunar tables that let you know all the good and bad times to fish. I've caught plenty when I never should have been able to catch one. The one thing that I know for certain is that if you aren't fishing you won't catch a danged thing. Get out there and fish. Don't worry about the conditions. Find the fish and go after them. Don't worry about the temperature, the wind, etc.

i've read some articles stating it's very important to look at when fishing, as much as the wind, some guys say it's not important at all.....what do you guys think? where do you get your readings from?

Also, and keep in mind I'm a newbie......what's the ideal water temperature for fishing trout and reds?
