Down here in Texas I don't think much matters except for the tide and the moon phase. Under a full moon with good current and lots of bait, the fish will pig out all night long and are very hard to get to bite the next day. This might be more true offshore, but it means more than atmospheric pressure or any of that hooey. Finding good water is the key to good fishing no matter what your lucky fish calendar says.

Barometric pressure, how important is it?

I researched also. I found a thread on BP and there is a 29.78 or so that the fish like. If it goes into 30.00 it's to high. After a front, give it 2 to 3 days and the fish will equalize their air bladder. The air bladder is like our equilibrium. People feel sluggish during a front. Knees hurt, headaches, and miserable. Same with fish. The only difference is they call it lock jaw. It was a freshwater article, but also works on saltwater. Moon also effects tides. When it's straight above or straight below, fishing is supposed to be best. When it's on the horizon it's good. This is what I read. But like its said before here, go when u can. Keep a log and you'll see the pattern. Lord Bless.

Amen.......Tides are much more important than barometric pressure, in my opinion the most important thing. Sure fish can sense weather changes and may feed more prior to a cold front but you have to remember that we are under high pressure throughout most of the summer. The fish still have to eat and they don't watch Chita! GaterOriginally posted by pieman View PostYep, we did pretty good also. THe only pressure I worry about is my blood pressure. If its still pumpming Im fishing!!!
